Great new addition from Flickr, everyone. Now you can put locations on all of your photos to place them on a map and give a visual of where they were taken. For example, here you can find all the shots I’ve taken in PA. Or, say you want to see pictures everyone on Flickr has taken in Lincoln Park, Chicago. Well, just go here. How about Liberty Island, New York? The Grand Canyon? The National Mall in D.C.? Maybe you want to check out Ibiza, Spain. How about historic Route 66?
As you can see I’m fairly excited about this. Up until now, there were 3rd party apps that could do this, but it was pretty clunky. With Flickr making this an official part of the site, it’s much better now. You can read all about it, and how to do it yourself over at the FlickrBlog.
So go have yourself a Flickr picture tour of somewhere cool! Just keep in mind that more popular locations will have several pages of photos, so keep your eye in the upper left corner what page you’re on. Enjoy!
